This summer, I invite us to crowd-source an interpersonal speaking rubric that interconnects science, statistics and our lived-experience as classroom teachers.

Rubrics Gone Wrong

I have been using different iterations of rubrics to attempt to capture interpersonal speaking for 20 years.  From the perspective of summer, I would write a comprehensive rubric only to the reality of September render the six dimension and five performance levels unusable.  Later as a district world language specialist, I led teams of teachers to create and test rubrics. Although these were superior, they still suffered from a narrow context.
